- Summary:
- Molecular mechanisms of auditory perception and hearing loss. ~10% population have detectable level of hearing loss. Our research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of hearing loss using knockout mice as models. Our lab will identify molecules and pathways that regulate the morphogenesis and functions of sensory hair cells, the primary receptors for sound. Hopefully our research will provide new leads for the development of new therapeutic approaches for the treatment of some forms of hearing loss in future.
- Internship Duties:
- Prepare buffers, protein purification, mouse genotyping, molecular cloning, immunohistochemistry
- Qualifications:
- motivated students interesting to do scientific research
